Water-wise Gardening on the Peninsula
The sands and sandy soils of the Long Beach Peninsula offer challenges to local gardeners envisioning dense, colorful flowerbeds and bountiful vegetable gardens. Yet the warmer, drier summer days with limited rain fall often stress your plants. Water conservation can help save water, time, and money throughout the year.
Learn practical ways of reducing water use in your garden, maximizing soil moisture for plant use, protecting the quality of our valuable groundwater and getting the most out of composts, fertilizers and soil amendments.
Plant Clinic 10:00 am – -12:00 pm at the Museum also. Do you have plant questions or problems with growing plants? Come ask a Master Gardener for help! Bring samples of plants if possible.
