1st Saturday with Master Gardeners – Garden Beginnings

This April workshop is especially for newcomers and gardeners wanting to learn more about how to start a garden in the Pacific Northwest. We will be discussing a variety of considerations for our area (moisture, what grows well/not well, etc.) as an introduction, followed by general soil amendment suggestions to begin improving your garden soil. We will end with information on starting seeds (when to start, what to start indoors, seeds vs starts, etc.) and demonstrate how to start seeds.

The workshop will be held at the WSU Extension Grays Harbor Office meeting room, 34 Elma McCleary Road, Elma, located at the back of the main parking lot for the Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds.

After the workshop there will be a Plant Clinic in the meeting room. The Plant Clinic team will be there to research any questions you might have. If you do have a plant question, please bring a sample of that plant with you, preferably in a sealed plastic bag. Bring your gardening questions or bring examples of problems you are experiencing in your garden.
