1st Saturday Workshop with Master Gardeners – Fall into Gardening

October 6, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

This first workshop, in the series of 1st Saturday Workshops with Master Gardeners, will focus on fall garden topics. We will tentatively have a giveaway of cover crop seeds (at the moment we are thinking of radishes). We will be covering the following topics:
StrawB

  1. When to expect the first winter frost
  2. How to use cold frames and other devices to extend the growing season
  3. Learn what to plant that will grow and thrive in the colder months
  4. Ways that wildlife can enjoy your garden through the fall and winter seasons.

This two-hour class, which begins promptly at 10:00 AM, is taught by Certified WSU Master Gardeners from Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties. There is no charge and no need to preregister. This class will be held at WSU Extension office in Elma, co-located with the Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds.

After the workshop, visit the Plant Clinic to get your questions about plant problems, insects and other gardening topics answered. The Plant Clinic team will be there to research any questions you might have. If you do have a plant question, please bring a sample of that plant with you, preferably in a sealed plastic bag.

Reasonable accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities and special needs who contact Toni Gwin, WSU Extension, P.O. Box 88, South Bend, WA 98586, 360 875-9331; tgwin@wsu.edu at least two weeks prior to the event.
