Consider applying for the 2025 Master Gardener Don Tapio Scholarship being offered by the Master Gardener Foundation of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties. These planters are priced between $40 to $60\, depending on sizes and styles. There are three styles of planters—medium\, tall and “toolbox” and hanging baskets\, too. SUMMARY:Growing a Salsa Vegetable Garden Workshop - Ilwaco
DESCRIPTION:Join the WSU Extension Master Gardeners of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties for our Growing a Salsa Vegetable Garden Workshop on April 19th from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum\, 115 W Lake Street in Ilwaco. Everything you need to make a delicious salsa can be grown in containers as well as in the garden. Learn best horticultural practices for growing tomatillos\, tomatoes\, peppers\, serrano and jalapeno peppers\, and garlic in containers. Participants will plant seeds in starting trays and learn ways to use everyday items around the home as DIY seed starting containers. \nAt the end of the class\, participants will leave with a salsa recipe\, seeds planted in containers\, and handouts for care of the plants as they grow.  \nThe workshop is free and open to the public.\nTomatoes going to the food bank\n \nReasonable accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities and special needs. After the workshop\, participants can practice their new pruning skills on the trees and shrubs in the Museum Discovery Garden. Bring your favorite pruning tools and dress for the weather.  \nTool Sharpening\nMaster Gardener Volunteer Mike Karvia will demonstrate how to sharpen your garden tools. Bring your dull garden tools to learn how to effectively and safely sharpen them! He will be available from 11 AM until 2 PM \nThe workshop is free and open to the public.
