DESCRIPTION:Completed hugelkultur prior to planting\nAddition of manure over wood in hugelkultur construction\nHands-on workshop about composting will be held in the Demonstration Garden at the Grays Harbor County  Fairgrounds.  Several kinds of composting will be discussed including traditional and worm composting.  At noon the workshop will transition to a hands-on activity — creating a composting berm or hugelkultur which uses large woody material to create plantable berms that mimic forest decomposition.  Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather/activity and bring gloves.   Two composting bins with compost turners will be given away at this workshop.  Composters are portable and easy to move.  Winners must be present to win.  Be ready for some fun!
