We’ll cover essential soil principles\, organic gardening practices\, soil testing and pH\, the soil pyramid\, and how to mix your own soil blends for containers and in-ground gardens.  \nParticipants will also learn the block method of seed starting and create their own soil mix. You’ll leave with practical knowledge for building healthy soil\, plus hands-on experience planting seeds in your custom-mixed ingredients.

DESCRIPTION:WSU Master Gardeners of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties are sponsoring a Plant Clinic and Information Center at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum in Ilwaco on Saturday\, June 13\, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We will be there to address your plant questions\, concerns\, and suggestions. The Discovery Garden is located behind the Museum’s parking lot at 115 SW Lake Street. \nIf you have questions such as: \n\nWhat is causing my rose bush to show clumps of red to orange powder on the lower surfaces of its leaves?\nHow do I place mulch around trees and shrubs?A small yellow wing beetle covered with black spots is decimating several of my dahlias/ What is it and how do I get rid of it?\nMoss is all over my lawn. What moss killer can I use?\nOne of my tomato plants has gray-green\, water-soaked spots that appear on the leaves\, stems and fruit. What is causing this?\n\nWe can help you! Stop by anytime. DESCRIPTION:The Master Gardeners of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties will be hosting a Plant Clinic on Saturday\, June 27\, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 2 PM at Ace Hardware\, 641 Point Brown Ave NE\, Ocean Shores. \n\nCommon questions for the Master Gardener volunteers are: \n\nWhat plants grow best in the Pacific Northwest?\nWhat can I grow in the maritime environment?\nHow can I test my soil?\nWhat will I have problems growing where I live?\n\nTo help us better diagnose a plant problem\, please try to share as much of the following information as possible: \n\nThe type of damage are you seeing and when it start\nThe parts of the plant that are affected: flower\, leaf\, stem\, fruit\, etc.\nHow is the plant watered and the amount and frequency of watering\nThe location of the plant ; in a garden bed or in the lawn\, next to a driveway or house\, in full or part sun\, the direction the plant faces\, etc.\n\nSharing photographs of your plant problem\, plant identification or insect identification is helpful. DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, July 18\, 2026\nGarden Tour hours: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM\nPlant Sale Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM\n \nThis year’s Annual Garden Tour will be held in the Ocean Shores community. The tour includes 7 unique gardens featuring all aspects of the beauty of gardening in our\nmaritime climate\, along with the challenges of wind\, sandy soil and deer. \nTickets are $20 and will be on sale one month before the tour. Children 10 and under free. \nThis year’s Plant Sale (hours 9am-5pm) will be held at the new Master Gardener Demonstration Garden\, DiG@Shores\, behind the Ocean Shores Methodist Church\, at 557 Point Brown Avenue\, NW in Ocean Shores.  No Garden Tour  ticket is required for the Plant Sale. Tickets for the Garden Tour will also be available at the Plant Sale. \n  \n \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nReasonable accommodations will be made for persons with disabilities and special needs.
