SUMMARY:Pruning Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Pruning Workshop – Master Gardener volunteers will demonstrate proper pruning techniques for trees and shrubs. After the workshop\, participants can practice their new pruning skills on the trees and shrubs in the Museum Discovery Garden. Bring your favorite pruning tools and dress for the weather. The workshop is free and open to the public. \nVolunteers Needed. Rachel Gana and Joanna Oliver will be presenting the workshop and assisting participants on pruning plants. Two more volunteers are needed to assist with pruning demonstrations and work with the public on pruning plants. \nThis event submission is an update to the original submission by Brenda Priestly submitted on Monday November 25 at 6:32 pm. The workshop times have changed from 10 am to noon to 11 am to 1 pm. \n

Bring your favorite pruning tools and dress for the weather.  \nTool Sharpening\nMaster Gardener Volunteer Mike Karvia will demonstrate how to sharpen your garden tools. Bring your dull garden tools to learn how to effectively and safely sharpen them! He will be available from 11 AM until 2 PM \nThe workshop is free and open to the public.

DESCRIPTION:WSU Master Gardeners of Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties are sponsoring a Plant Clinic and Information Center at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum in Ilwaco on Saturday\, February 22\, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We will be there to address your plant questions\, concerns\, and suggestions. The Discovery Garden is located behind the Museum’s parking lot at 115 SW Lake Street. \nIf you have questions such as:\n• How do I place mulch around trees and shrubs?\n• My one rhododendron is wilting and dying. What’s wrong?\n• Moss is all over my lawn. What moss killer can I use?\n• My hellebore plants looks fairly healthy but some of the leaves look damaged. What should I do? \nWe can help you! Stop by anytime. Bring samples if you can. \nWe are also giving informal tours of the Native Plant Garden and our own vegetable garden! \nWSU Extension also supports two web sites that can help you diagnose your own plant problems.\n• Hortsense (http://hortsense.cahnrs.wsu.edu/Home/HortsenseHome.aspx) – Contains fact sheets for the home gardener to manage plant problems using Integrated Pest Management (IPM).\n• Pestsense (http://pestsense.cahnrs.wsu.edu/Home/PestsenseHome.aspx) – Contains fact sheets for managing common indoor pest problems using Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
